full moon in sagittarius
“Be open for something wonderful to happen. Be open to the possibilities.” Debbi Nargi-Brown
I offer gratitude to the land for holding us, the Dahkota who have always called this place home, the Sun and Moon for providing us with life-giving light, and the Great Mystery for calling us in at this moment to restore balance by fulfilling our Soul’s work here on Earth.
I invite you to offer what you can to the people of Palestine, living on this same Earth, who are suffering daily at the hands of a genocidal government and have been for nearly 8 decades, who continue to hold hope in their hearts that humanity will prevail and their land and it’s people will know peace. May our personal liberation bring about change for the whole, as we are all interconnected and interdependent.
Big Message of this Full Moon- Go in the direction of your dreams; the way knows the way.
It’s Gemini season and the curious twins are playing with perspective and pace as we enter this full Moon in Sagittarius, Gemini’s sister sign. Sagittarius is the philosopher of the zodiac. What can seem impulsive is often deeply intuitive and inspired.
This Moon gives us much food for thought: How will curiosity support your moving toward your dreams? Can you experiment with pace in your intuition, play with moving one foot in front of the other and be open to the possibilities unfolding in each moment?
I’m writing from my patio table in the yard, where my cat is teasing a squirrel in a tree and birds visit their feeder, paying her no mind. It’s just rained overnight so the plants are perky and bright from their dance with lightning and dandelions seed blows through the air. A cardinal just landed on the power line, surveying his kingdom.
I often think of the birds, who want for nothing. They sing and are well cared for. I can learn from the birds, remembering that I too am well cared for by this Earth and can join their song of presence and joy. And Sagittarius is nothing if not present and joyful. The archer seeks to experience and learn and grow and gobble up everything life has to offer because is that not the point?
“You can do it like it’s a great weight on you, or you can do it like it’s part of the dance.” Ram Dass
The seeds of our new Moon and longer term intentions are bearing fruit each full Moon and in turn beginning to shed as the Moon wanes. What are you holding on to, attached to, that may be in the way of getting what you really want? What ideas can you let go of, ideas weighing you down, ideas that have been imposed upon you but you have never chosen as yours? How is the concept of time factoring into your dream work? Can you play with scales of time, think short and long term, and still remain present in your breath in this body right now?
The squirrels show us how to play like this, as they unearth their buried treasures and prepare for the next turn around the Sun. With the big blue sky above me and trees dancing in the mighty wind, I can bring my own choices into view with a different perspective, turning each one over and under the light in this Gemini Sun. What choices move me toward my dream, my personal and collective dream of community care and slow living? What kind of armor can I shed in order to reach out and pick the ripe fruit of belonging?
The full Moon is sextile Pluto while the Sun trines Pluto. There is a regenerative force in togetherness, which I hope you have felt and will feel in this life. With Plutoin Aquarius this is bone deep, community on a cellular level. Think of family and friends with whom you share your fondness and vulnerability. Community feeds and feeds on curiosity- together is the only way to move toward something real. Asking each other questions, confiding in one another, sharing those innermost thoughts, can bear fruit even grander than we could conceive of on our own.
Speaking of grand, Venus and Jupiter, Sagittarius’ ruler, are meeting up in the sky at the last degree of Taurus. These two planets are known as the benefics, supporting us in opportunity, luck, abundance, and justice. There is even more energy available to notice where we are, how far we’ve come, and to what we can say farewell, with gratitude.
Pay attention to what ideas pop into your head this week, even those that feel far away. Sagittarius always says keep going until you hit a wall and even then, see what that wall is made of. If it’s malleable, can we bend it? If it’s porous, can we break it? If it’s brick, can we look around and see that we’ve already arrived?
“Adventures don’t begin until you get into the forest. That first step is an act of faith.” Mickey Hart
May this full Moon inspire you to shed anything hold you back from dreaming the life you want to live into existence. May all beings be happy, may all beings be free.
